Lizzie smilled back thinking that it was a weird night. She had not counted on meeting someone who made her blush, which was very hard to do. There was something about this man, but she couldn't wuite put her finger on it. She put the thought back in her mind for future contemplation. "Okay." She finally agreed. "Dinner it is. Only if you're paying though." She told him with a laugh. "I've never been somebody's muse before. This could be interesting. I'll have to come up with some things to give you something nice and interesting to write about. My witty responses won't be enough." She laughed again at her own joke, giving him a wink at the same time.
Lizzie smiled and shook her head. "You don't strike me as the kind of guy that any girl could hold in the palm of her hand." She told him. It was true. He had an air of being a man that would be very hard to manipulate. Maybe that was why she felt drawn to him.

He smiled brightly when she finally said yes to going out with him. It had been sooner than he thought but was satisfied with the answer. SHe was a very funny girl, that was made Brandon laugh which was a new thing for him. He was used to turning on his charm and making them laugh and fawn over him. But he could not fake it like he usual could with the other girls. Well he could but a small part of him did not want to do that to Liz. "Well I would not have it any other way." stated Brandon as he wanted to ask what kind of loser had she dated before him. But he did not want to upset her so soon. He laughed when she talked about being his muse. "Yes it can be, but just talking to you already has a few poems flowing in my head. stated Brandon as he lifted his hand and touched Liz's hand.
He raised his eyebrow, when she made he finaly statement, he was not that type of guy but he could no ttell er that. "I am not talking about any girl I am talking about you Elizabeth." said Brandon as he emphasized Her name in a sexy tone.

Lizzie laughed slightly at his first statement. There were some guys out there that would make a girl pay for her own meal. She had had one of those once. Needless to say, it was only one date. He had been a jerk. She wouldn't go the route again. "Well, good. So, when did you want to go? It's all up to you. I'm free whenever I'm not here or at school." She told him seriouslty. Her schedule wasn't normally packed. She only worked at P3 on weekends, though her dad let her call off whenever she wanted. Her school schedule was a bit of a different story. She had classes almost every day. She smiled sweetly. "Poems, huh? I'll have to hear a few of them sometime. It might make me blush very badly though." She warned him. She almost blushed when he touched her hand, though she held it in this time. What was wrong with her? She wasn't normally like this!
Lizzie watched his face after her last words. She couldn't really read him. That made her slightly uncomfortable, but not too much in a bad way. It was just slightly new to her. "Okay then. I'm not all that special." She said. Though, she was in a couple of ways, but there was no way she could tell him that. She sighed inwardly. It wasn't easy to hide who she really was.

"Well I have two in mind the Olive Garden or Triquetra, which would you prefer?" "We can go tomorrow night if you would like." "School?" "Do you go to USF?" asked Brandon still trying to come off like a gentleman and trying to still ask about her.
Brandon did not know what to think o the last statement, does she have low self esteem or something another thought that Brandon kept to himself."Hopefully I am right since I do not know you very well , but you seem special to me." stated Brandon as he let his thumb rub her hand.

Lizzie thought about it for a minute. The Olive Garden was one of her favorites. But so was the Triquetra. Though, if she went to the Triquetra, she would be most likely to run into family who would taunt her. Not that she minded, but it might be a bit uncomfotable fot him. "I'll leave that choice up to you. I love them both, but my family also own the Triquetra and it's more likely that we'll run into them there. They can be rather annoying." She told him, making a face. "Yes, I'm a junior. I'll be graduating next year, thank God. I can't wait for school to be behind me." She told him with another dazzling smile. It wasn't that she didn't like to expand her mind, but she would love to have a real full time job. Working at P3 was fine, but Lizzie had other careers in mind.
Lizzie smiled again. "Well, I guess you might be right. I've never met anyone quite like me. Though, my sisters are close." This was true. She was different. Different from most girls. This didn't make her feel bad about herself, but she didn't want to come off conceited either.

"So that would make you a Halliwell right?" asked Brandon with fake curiousity he was sure she would but that he would still oblivious to who she was."In that case we should go to the Olive Garden, do not want things to awkward during the date." stated Brandon as he noticed his rub had not affected her. Usually most girls blushed or looked down and rubbed his back. It was weird that she did not notice, but made him see she was different. He was glad for different. He smiled back when Liz smiled at him, she had a nice smile.
"Sisters?" "How many do you have, and what about any brothers?" asked Brandon as he was just learning things about her. This game was still a little fun, but getting a little old to him. He covered it well and paid attention to her answers.

Lizzie nodded. "Yup. I'm one of the many Halliwells. The oldest, by a couple hours." She grimaced. Any one who knew her family knew how many there were. It was all hard to keep up with sometimes. Lizzie was somewhat surprised to hear that he knew her name, but it wasn't too hard to figure out. What with her family owning to important businesses and working at the Bay Mirror with him. "Yes. The Olive Garden is probably the best bet. That way we can have a bit of privacy." She told him. She would love to get to know him better. He was like one of the mystery books. The ones you just can't stop reading until you figure out the mystery. It made her intensly curious about him. It probably showed on her face.
"Two sisters. We're triplets. No brothers. It would probably have been nice to have one or two though. Sisters can get a bit complicated." She told him shaking her head slightly. "How about you? You haven't said anything about your family. Any brothers or sisters?" She asked, her curiosity burning through.

Brandon was paying attention very well and acting his part of not knowing anything but what he was being told, her being the oldest was a nice little tidbit that he ha not known. The fact that she wanted privacy was a sign that they was going to be a lot of something she did not want seen on front of her family. He pondered on the idea, but when triplets where mentioned he lost it. His mid drifted into so many fantasies he could barely keep up. He had to force himself to snap back into reality.
He frowned when she asked about his famliy. He tried s best not to think or talk abut them. But he should have seen it coming when he had asked more about hers."Well I had an older brother." sated Brandon as the real regret of his past came to his mind and sadness covered his face.

Lizzie watched his face, again not being able to read much there. Obviously, this man could hide his emotions very well. Lizzie wasn't sure how she felt about that. She was normally good at it too, but for some reason she was sharing more of herself with this stranger than she did to anybody, with maybe the exception of her sisters. She racked her brain for something that he had said or did that made her trust him enough to do this, but she couldn't remember anything. Maybe it was just something on the inside. She didn't understand it and she was getting a headache trying. Then again, it might just be the music doing that.
There it was. Some flicker of something on his face to show his emotions. It had happened when Lizzie had asked about his family. She had no idea what had brought it on of course, but she wasn't going to press him. It seemed like a painful subject to her. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." She told him compassionately, putting her hand on his arm in a comforting gesture.

When felt the tough on his arm, a funny feeling came over him. He had never been touched in a gentle way by anyone but his mother. BUt those nice moments happened every other blue moon. He looked up at her and wanted to tell her everything, but he could not. So he would settle for half a lie. "I lost my brother and parents in a fire." "It was suppose to have been arson that started in the house." stated Brandon slowly.
Hopefully she would buy it and feel sorry for him, he needed to somehow get her to open her charmed world to him with out seeming to suspicious. He wanted to try and frame his brother a fire starter without looking like he knew what it was. But he could not figure out how.

Lizzie looked into his eyes, no smile on her face now. What a terrible thing to happen! She had no idea what it would feel like if it was her family. She was just way to close to them. It had almost killed her when her grandmother died. They had been very close. She shuddered slightly at the thought. What if it had been her sisters? She just couldn't imagine it. "I'm so sorry." She almost whispered to him. "If I'd have known, I wouldn't have brought it up. What a terrible thing to happen to someone so sweet. I'm so sorry." She said again. She didn't remove her hand. Instead she moved it up and down, rubbing his arm lightly and thinking that he probably needed a bit of comfort. It did seem like a tough subject for him.
Lizzie didn't want to pry, but she just couldn't help herself from asking the next question. "What do you mean, it was supposed to be arson?" She asked in a comfoting tone, waiting for him to tell her that eh didn't want to talk about it. She knew that if it was her, it would be really hard.

The aplogizes wjere something he never understood or liked. They made him feel like crap and he hated being pitied. BUt why did people always say they were sorry, as if they had killed the person themselves. He gave a weak smile towards her. "Its okay, they are in a better place." stated Brandon in a low tone. Brandon was thinking maybe he should be nominated for an Emmy, Oscar ,or some kind of award. He looked at her and smiled brightly to show her he was still a tough guy.
When she asked about the arson, he held back his smile. SHe had took the bait and he was glad that was all that was needed. He quickly stated,"Well the police said it was not an accidental fire and that it had started in the trash car in front of my brother, but there was no accelerate so they named it arson.

Lizzie smiled back hesitantly. He must be tough, she thought. Then again, guys dealt with pain in different ways than woman did. She thought that he might have just been able to let go of it a bit. It probably happened a long time ago. That kind of pain numbed after awhile to where it was able for you to get on with your life. Lizzie knew that all too well. It didn't mean that she didn't miss her grandmother. It just meant that she was able to live her life without feeling miserable about it. He was right. If anyone deserved to go to a better place, it was Piper. She smiled brighter this time. "You're right. All those we love go to a better place. It's not like we don't still miss them though." She said, not talking about his family at the end, but her own.
Lizzie frowned when he said his last statement. It didn't sound like arson to her. It sounded like something one of her cousins was able to do. He was a fire starter. Could that be what his brother was? Lizzie's instincts told her yes. Well, there was no way she could have explained that to him. "Well, that does sound a bit fishy to me." She said, with the shadow of her frown still on her face. She thought maybe it was time to lighten the mood. "So, what are your plans for the rest of the night? I know you can't be planning on sitting here and talking to me forever." She said with a laugh.

She had picked up on the clue and it was right ahead, he just hoped she did not think he was one too. That would not be good for his plan. But when she laughed and changed the subject he knew he was home free. "Well no, really had not planned anything out." "Was suppose to meet some friends but they flaked on me." lied Brandon with the most honest expression he could make.
"So that is making me free all night." stated Brandon hoping she would want to do something after work even if it was just walking her home. Brandon thought of how his plan was going to work out, and he smiled at her brightly. As he looked around and saw that the bar had emptied some, he looked down at his watch it was almost one thirty in the morning. It had not felt like they talked that long. Brandon looked back up at Liz waiting on her next action.

Lizzie sat and listened to him, her mind reeling. Should she ask him to walk her home? Or should she just say goodnight? Her house wasn't far, but she didn't drive tonight. She rode with one of the other bartenders, who had gone home early. She had gotten sick. Lizzie had not seen that one coming. She could just orb, but maybe she did want him to walk her home. For some reason, she wanted at least a couple more minutes with him. Like the time it took to get to her house from here. "Well, that sucks. Maybe they had something come up." She suggested. "My plans for the rest of the night include snacks and sleep." She told him with a laugh.
Lizzie thought hard about it for another moment before making up her mind. She forced herself to say the words before she changed her mind again. "So," She hesitated. "If you really don't have anymore plans for tonight, how about you walk me home? I rode with Suzie tonight and she went home early. I don't really like the thought of walking alone on the dark." She looked at her watch, surprised how the time had gone. "I can leave at any time."
